Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

I hope each of you are experiencing all the beauty of this season through snow, lights, music and family. This morning I was journaling about my struggle being away from the US for the holidays and I was asking Jesus to remind me of something to be thankful for. He showed me that the true reason for the season as they say, is Him. And no matter where I, or you, are in the world, He is the reason to celebrate. So in the midst of the gifts, the tree, the lights and the snow (which are some of my favorite things) I am thankful to be reminded that He is not only the reason we celebrate this season but He is the One we celebrate this season.

This year has been a whirlwind for Global Redemption for sure! I moved to Uganda at the end of February and time has flown by. For this year our biggest goal has been to register Global Redemption as a nonprofit here in Uganda. A process we began in July 2017. Well, currently I can say that we have been approved however our paperwork is being held due to corruption among one government official. The corruption in this country runs deep and it shows itself within each office entered. It has been frustrating and draining yet we continue to hold on to our core values of integrity and honesty and we refuse to pay a bribe. So we are waiting and searching out other officials for approval without such payment.

Other than the paperwork side of things, I have continued to partner with a local ministry here called Mto Moyoni (“river in the heart”) which teaches on the Father heart of God as well as walking people through inner healing from past wounds. I have worked with them since 2012 and the mentorship program of Global Redemption is meant to be a follow-up to their youth programs. I have been working with their youth outreach program which has been amazing. Working with teenagers who have experienced horrible pain and were walking down dangerous paths, some towards terrorism, and seeing them make choices for the Father and for His Kingdom has been incredible.

As for the program itself, earlier this year Jesus revealed a town called Tororo near the Kenyan border for the headquarters of our program. I will be shifting there in February and each time I have visited I am reminded of His sovereignty over the situation. It truly is the best location for us. Tororo is designed to become an epicenter of the East African Region. Which means that it will be a very influential town in the future and with Daddy’s vision to transform culture to His Kingdom, we believe that Global Redemption will be in the perfect position to do just that. I have been looking for land plots around Tororo and it has been highly promising. Our desire is to purchase 3-4 acres early next year for the cost of $5,000/acre. This is the major focus for our fundraising currently. We already have a local contractor and architect ready to begin the process of designing the buildings which will commence as soon as the finances are raised and the land is purchased.Design of the program has also been a focus of this year. We knew Holy Spirit desired this to be a sort of school of ministry/mentorship/discipleship program but there is so much ambiguity within those terms. In prayer a couple of weeks ago He began showing me that His desire for this program is for it to be a school of the Kingdom. Where youth would come into His reign and understand more of what Kingdom living looks like. We have been building up our curriculums through other organizations such as Moral Revolution and Messenger International, as well as designing our own in the field of first aid, basic health care, financial budgeting and OT/NT survey. Our focus will not only be to train and disciple youth in Scripture and life skills, but to truly train and equip these youth to move out into influential positions of life in order to transform their culture to His Kingdom culture. We will be raising and training apostle-ships as the Romans did. The apostle ship was the first ship in a Roman armada on their way to a newly conquered land. This ship and others would contain doctors, teachers, politicians, etc so that they would bring a Roman mindset to this new land whereby if Caesar ever visited, he would have an experience like Rome itself. This is our calling. To transform the culture around us to look like the Kingdom of Heaven. This will be our training.

Your financial donations have already begun to do this. Through partnering with other ministries and having opportunities to share, I have been teaching and leading others deeper into this revelation. Your donations have also been working to develop a nest egg for our land purchase. Your donations have also helped sponsor youth to attend Mto Moyoni’s programs throughout the year. And donations have also supplied my living expenses which has allowed me to work with the Ugandan government in becoming a registered nonprofit. Through those donations, rent was also paid for my roommate who is a current university student just finishing her first year studying social work. Due to her schedule for school, she has been unable to work to pay rent but through your generosity she has been able to live here rent free while attending school, she is the top in her class by the way! :) Overall, this year has been wonderful. It is difficult for me to be away from the US but that comes with the equal tension of how joyful I am to be back here in Uganda. The vision of Global Redemption is moving forward as Daddy opens doors and I am so thankful for your partnership. Next year brings with it some huge goals. First, the finalization of our approval as a nonprofit here in Uganda. Second, a three week school of sonship with Mto Moyoni in January. Third, the purchase of property in Tororo. Finally, the design and building of our Kingdom Culture Center of Mentorship. Woohoo! So excited!! :)

These words cannot express my gratitude for your generosity and partnership. I know Daddy will not return your sacrifice void but I pray for His blessings to be fulfilled in your heart. If you are desiring to make an additional, tax-deductible end of the year gift the following are the two special projects we are currently raising finances for. Simply make a note through your online donation or check. 1. School fees for youth to attend school of sonship in January. We are hoping to sponsor 5 youth at $225/youth. 2. Purchase of land in Tororo. $15,000 to purchase 3 acres. Visit our website  http://www.globalredemption.net/donate/  for ways to donate. Thank you for your partnership and prayers. Together we will see Kingdom Culture become the culture of our cities.      With Love, Kelly Rompel Executive Director of Global Redemption
