Ministry or life?

I feel like this week Holy Spirit has revealed more of His heart for why I am where I am. Lately I have been frustrated and feeling stuck due to the corruption and lack of organization within the government here in Uganda. We have been waiting for weeks on a decision of our nonprofit paperwork and it seems we may need to wait longer. During this waiting I have asked if there are other ministries I should get involved with or other volunteering I could do but each time Jesus speaks to me about what He really has me doing. He reminds me of the importance of my role in the prayer room for Global Redemption. He reminds me that right now I have the time it takes to make copies of a recently required form for the government. He reminds me that right now there are missionaries in my area who need a place to come and sit and enjoy good food, some encouragement and a Bible study that specifically fills a gap. He reminds me that being a friend to my community is higher value than other things right now. These reminders have kept me going and kept my frustration at bay. And it also reminds me that I am not here in Uganda to 'do ministry'. I am here in Uganda to live a life as a daughter who reveals my loving Father to whomever is in front of me. Through doing so, the woman around the corner is given a lift to the next town in Bubbles, my neighbor has a safe place to come to and laugh and fellowship, a friend who is sick is able to be accompanied to the doctor and then cared for throughout the night. But if I was focused on 'doing ministry' then anything that doesn't fall under a certain scope would be pushed out. Thankfully Jesus has shown me how to do this and if you'll read the Gospels and listen to Him speak to you today, He will show you as well. :)

Will the paperwork ever end?!? I don't know if any of you are asking this question, but I ask it nearly every day! Right now my friend is at the NGO Board office waiting to hear if we have been approved. If we are, then I will apply for a work permit which allows me to volunteer within Uganda for one year at a time. If we are not approved, then we have more work on that end but I will also need to apply for a special pass which perhaps will give us one more month for the NGO Board to approve us. Please pray for favor within these offices.
